Roadkill, anyone?
THE JESSE JANES started as a cover band known as THE COVER GIRLZ, but as their material became more original and their attitude continued to evolve, the need to change their identity became evident. Sacrilegious scewering of themselves and others combined with seering vocals and scintillating guitar riffs added to their blossoming reputation as women who take no prisoners.

I believe this album to be the finest one reflecting 'middle aged crazy' for women, with themes of inner power, wildness and exotic adventures/encounters.

You are a power singer, and a power writer. Some of it may be a little sophisticated for my core audience.
-Ernie Hopseker, Ocean Beach Radio June 2010
Peggy I have to tell you there was just "something" in your voice & style which really touched me. I didn't want to make too much of it there, as my intention certainly was not to minimize anyone else's talent, but they just, well, lacked that deep insight vital to conveying a musical message like you obviously naturally have. What a magical day/night it was! Thank you for sharing your music and self with us. I very much want to see you perform again!
Fondly, Debra

Goddess Festival brings music dance poetry to Kingston Saugerties Woodstock this weekend
The songs are like poems of passion between men and women, the passage of time, the pull of fate, life's relentless rush into the future and the unshakable voices of the past. Atwood's voice is smooth and creamy and she sings with a kind of humility that is disarming considering her vocal range and strength. It's like she knows she doesn't need any tricks, she's got the goods.

LIVING MONOLITH
A lifetime of living on the edge propelled Peggy Atwood, a stellar chanteuse, sometime legal secretary, and forever daughter of an Army colonel diplomat, into the smooth squash-shaped domes of Outpost Planet Earth, her Kerhonkson dream home.

In the wilds of the cool blue north, a new sound of writing and singing has emerged, blending styles heretofore uncategorized. PEGGY ATWOOD has defined and established a new genre, NORTHERN COUNTRY, that at once mystifies, entices, and gets the room rocking in short order, to say nothing of her ability to sing everything from gossamer sweet ballads to paint-peeling rock and roll.
