Long ago and far away, a little 3-year old girl in Czechoslavakia played with her kitty on the floor with parents and nanny looking on. Daddy began to sing, "Frere Jaques" in a language she did not understand , and the little girl was entranced. Such beautiful music! She began to sing immediately. From then on, song was the driving force in her life, from international evacuations to sacred moments in mountain cathedrals, she was known for her gift of song and the joy it would bring to all who heard.
Now you can experience this gentle force in the varied compositions of a powerful yet subtle songwriter. Just click the links to listen and purchase.

The Birth of a New Genre: NORTHERN COUNTRY
In the wilds of the cool blue north, a new spirit of songwriting and song interpretation has evolved. From the myriad singer-songwriters that have populated the byways of song for the last five decades comes a definitive new sound: NORTHERN COUNTRY. This collective consciousness has birthed a restless breed that tends to shy away from labels of country and folk, but blends easily into these, as well as rock, jazz, classical, blues and even world. Embracing a new-age ethic while keeping certain musical traditions intact is what often distinguishes this form of writing, going as far back as early Gram Parsons (Cosmic American Country), Ian and Sylvia (country and Northwestern), John Prine, Hoyt Axton, John Denver and John Stewart. While these writers were often labeled folk, they were often accepted into the country format, and on occasion, crossed over into pop/rock. This new generation of writers and performers have carried on the tradition, keeping the sound and sensibility of country while giving birth to a more esoteric, even existential and conceptually diverse range of material. A true American hybrid, NORTHERN COUNTRY is an evolved sound and genre of its own.
