A very informative site. I knew nothing of this type of construction and to see it laid out in such detail is wonderful. I applaud all your hard work to share the experience and to encourage others of the possibilities. As I watched your slideshow all I could think was how refreshing and enjoyable the tour was.

Thanks again,

great site! great music! great house! i love the info on the monolith dome... i really was curious about how it was done. i'm really psyched to do it... just need to convince my husband who is scared of the newness of the construction and finding experts to do it within cost limit. i'll share the website with him, although i'm not sure whether or not he'll become more scared or less.

Peggy,

Thanks for letting us view your dome house as it was built; most impressive to say the least. I was reading some posts and saw a Capt that was retiring soon and you answered some questions he had. I am also in the military stationed here in Japan and retire in a few years. I have been to the Monolithic Dome House website and have found what my wife and I believe to be our dream home.

I was wondering if you could throw some words of wisdom our way. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Again thanks so much for the pics on your site, we will frequent visitors.

Respectfully, Kevin

Hi Peggy, Great Site!!!!!!

I'm looking foward to coming HOME too!!! I have a piece of

property in Cochecton (Sullivan County, 12748), and am in the

process of looking at types of Green Buildings.....This type looks

awesome.....your picture and music presentation is top notch.

Is your builder/contractor still in business???

If so I may call on him........Hopefully, sometime relatively soon.

They did a great job.....You did a great job.....

How do you like it now that you've been there awhile?

Maybe we'll meet sometime.....

Thanks............Pat

Peggy, I enjoyed every one of your construction photos. That must have been quite an ordeal! The result was obviously worth the effort. I retire in 5 yrs after 40 yrs of gov servive and I've been planning my dome in northern New mexico. What a place! We love it!!! Steve

Maam

I just wanted to see if you could answer a question. I have been wanting to build a dome home for years. Since I designed a dome home in High School(1991). I went to college and eventually wound up in the military where I have been for the last 12 years. Currntly I am overseas and unable to do anything except work on a design on a computer program I have(I would love your input, if you are willing) As of 30 June 08 I will be officaly MR Lowe and not CPT Lowe. As a civilaina againg I am going back to Indiana to finishing raising my family. I will finally be in a place where I can build this house. Your two dome design is very similar to my original Ideas ( I have 3 design, which I am trying to sell to my wife). Anyway back to the question.

Where do I go from here? Once my wife and I settle on a design that is :)

Peggy,

We (the whole family) really enjoyed looking at your dome pictures. We are in the process of building our own dome home. The project is called "Petra" on the www.itsa.info site. We started in last Sept. and have been building in our free time. My kids have painful memories so it was a "real" experience looking at your dome. Best wishes,

David and Andrea Holmes

Hi Peggy! I just checked out your Monolithic slide show...what a GREAT home! It turned out beautifully. I've always been a huge fan of dome buildings, and getting to see the step by step was really cool (and the musical enhancement was a great touch as well). It was nice to see a few friends in the pictures as well...what a great community we have here...

Kudos!

Martin -

The dome is 3200 sq ft. Depends on where you live as to what the cost will be, as well as how you want to finish it out. The cost can go anywhere from $110 - 200 sq ft. You should go to www.monolithic.com and check out their online home evaluator (right hand side of home page) to get an idea of what your dome would cost.

Hi Peggy:

I like your monolithic dome. Can you tell more about it? sq footage and cost per sq ft? I am in the process of coming up with a design for a dome.

Hello, Every One! I am finally making some changes and updating a few items on my website, and I love you all for being so patient and bearing with me. Winter has finally put in an appearance, it is 0 degrees outside, and the woodstove is totally cozy. The dome is not completely finished, but it is nice and livable, and maybe now I can get back to playing more music. I look forward to seeing you around this great big campus! Peggy Atwood
