Well, this is pretty exciting; my own web page, produced by the very dedicated and talented people of Hudson Valley Music.

Some of you may wonder, Where has she been? Life takes many turns, but I have continued to play and perform, very quietly, in the backwoods of the northcountry, as well as making forays into Nashville and New York, as I worked slowly but surely towards the completion of this CD. Now that it is done, I am looking forward to the completion of the next one, and the one after that.

    Renegade of the Light Brigade
My newest album -- Renegade of the
    Light Brigade
For those of you who don't know me, my music has often been difficult to categorize, but generally falls into the "folk" category; I used to call it "neo-esoteric crossover folk country pop rock", but that, of course, proved to be a source of confusion for most people. One night a very astute member of the audience told me that I played "northern country"; and hence the title of that CD. No one in Nashville ever considered my music "country", and no one in New York thought I was anything but. Since I did have semi-classical training, listened to everyone from Dylan to Elvis, Yma Sumac to Dusty Springfield, and awoke every day to the sound of the muzzein calling from the minarets, it all got thrown in the hopper, and voila! Northern Country. But at a folk festival seminar, where I was supposed to hold forth about What Is Folk Music?, another audience member so gently reminded me: "You know, Duke Ellington has inscribed on his tombstone, 'All music is folk music'". You decide. And let me know what you think.
